OK, no beating around the bush. Let’s get straight to the highlight of the day - I did my laundry! Now that may not seem like a big deal to those of you who do laundry all the time, but to me it was a major accomplishment! Those washers and dryers are scary machines! Well I didn’t even have to beat my clothes between two rocks! This laundering business has sure come a long way, hasn’t it? Thats what mom keeps saying- like she ever had to go to the creek to do a wash.
Of course the hardest part for me was trying not to mix whites and colors - which seems like such a waste of good water to me. But I didn’t I was good. I have seen the light pink of mixed washes and there is no hiding it. Its a weird pale pink that comes from nothing but mixed colors. And the really encouraging thing is that I’m pretty sure I can get by without any ironing. If you think laundry scared me - imagine what the thought of ironing does! Now, if I can just find that missing sock. (Seriously - one has disappeared... )
The weather today is really gloomy. I just took a break from washing and sat at the window for a little bit - the wind is still blowing like crazy. I’m really enjoying the wild clouds but I’m hoping for a few brighter days soon.
This was just a boring update on my life because I needed to feel like I was doing something fun in with the dull job stuff- but when its done it will be great. Nice clean clothes- yuck then all the folding and hanging but worth the effort. I see I need to get a few new things because some stuff is just worn out. Something to look forward to. I have to call Cloe to help with that- she navigates Malls well and always find the great out-of the-way sales and the funkiest stuff in what looks like endlessly boring things. Sometimes you have to dig for the cool stuff in the junk. Cloe rocks at finding the bargains too. Yasmin always says "are you buying that because you like it or because its on sale?" She always says stuff like that. I also like thrift store stuff and Sasha won't go, she says if she buys anything she wants it to be new. I just like stuff that looks great, old or new (and clean!) Jade makes some of her own stuff which I think is amazing. Dana gets plain and simple looking stuff but then wears funky accessories or shoes. It works.
Oh well gotta go - the dryer just buzzed Over and out for now.
